One day Trip to Mandarmoni

I was looking to explore a place in search of peace. If you are also looking for the taste I suggest visit Mandarmoni, West Bengal.

Here it goes ......

My long cherished dream of owing a car became true in Aug end 2011. Owning a car and going to distant unknown places stimulates my mind and body any time. I could not resist myself planning  go to various places after I bought tall boy. But the main drawback ... oops had I known to drive I could have been to atleast to one place by the first week of Sep 2011. I am exposed to cars (original onces :) ) very early. My father was allocated govt car with chauffer. I used to request sometimes his chauffers to take me for a drive and some occassions they used to oblige my request to hold the stearing sitting on their laps. Years passed then in 2009, when I was a forced bachelor at Bangalore, I decided to formally learn to drive. I enrolled myself with a driving school. I was confident that I can drive since I had driven cars sitting on the laps of dad's loyal chauffers :). First day, trainer said .... start the engine and hold stearing.... I oblighed and the journey of offical driving started..... there was a gap of 2 years, of leaning to drive and owning a car. I was confident that I would be able to drive with some practise and so it is. By the end of Sep11 after one month I was able to take my car in full traffic ofcourse with hiccups.. :)

Oct onwards started to take my car to office, nov onwards full city drive and so on.... now the next stage ...go out of city and taste my long cherished dream. Mandarmoni shortlisted. I prepared myself for my first long trip... with nylon rope..... (to be continued to know why nylon rope)

Its my long time dream to share my travelogues.

Coorg Trip, 2008
I was then staying at Bangalore. Let me introduce my travel gang members ..Rajarshi - our own dackar, Chinmoy - fondly called chinu, Indra Uncle - our beloved uncle, Bumba - our own BP and ofcource myself - everybody call me lal sweater. We usually will meet for gettogether and plan for a trip. We will go to the extend of fixing date and book hotel but it nerver used to happen that easily. One evening we decided we had enough talk letz go out. Called up uncle and asked if he is interested to go with us. He said where we said Coorg .. he said letz pack this week. We did not do any prior hotel booking we wanted to go unprepared and explore when we reach. At that time was I forced bachelor so didnot had any problem to convince :).
Friday night myself, chinu and dacter meet at bumba's place and spent the night. Bumba and chinu were bachelors and dacter too was like me. Uncle reached Bumba's place early morning at 6 am. By that time we were all ready. Uncle had a old M800 then (now he owns Innova). though it was quite stuffy was it was joy ride fully loaded with gang members. We started our journey by 6:30 am.
We hit the mysore road early as there were not traffics. The road is awesome. We reached Madur at 8 am. Its was our first halt for liquid our and liquid in.

After spending thirty minutes we started again. Reached Mysore by 9:30 am. Took the right turn towards Infosys. Again we took a left turn and headed straight towards coorg. There are basically two ways to reache coorg. Our route was shortest but road was not that good. The vegetations along the journey is breathtaking.

We reached Bhagamandala by around 11:30. We stopped for second time for liquid in and liquid out. There are lots of small eateries who sells hot idly and dosas yummy .... They also sells honey. They claim its 100%. I had a doubt but could not resist the temptation to buy one bottle. It was difficult to choose the right shop. I felt every shop was equally good or bad :). I then decided to buy it from the shop who has most becautiful lady selling it. Usually you will find all ladies at shop counter. I finally got one bottle from a shop which I thought was I was lucky.
While starting our last lag we had a little bit of disappointment here. Our uncle had felt the keys inside and the car's doors are locked. Here I felt the need of extra key should be handly to avoid such scenerios. Witth the help fo few drivers, we could start our journey again.

We reached Coorg the coffee capital of India by 12:30 pm. It took a bit long time as you would guess M800's thrust chooking with fully loaded five persons. But I must tell you one thing our queen M800 never had any hiccups. To be continued...
